Privacy

// last updated 2026-05-23

SmartXChain is built to be privacy-friendly by default. We don't run third-party advertising, we don't use cookies for tracking, and we don't sell or rent your data.

What we collect

Newsletter subscribers

If you subscribe to The Chain Letter, your email address is stored at our newsletter provider, Buttondown. Buttondown is the data processor; SmartXChain is the controller. We only use your email to send the newsletter you signed up for. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from the list immediately and permanently.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which articles are read. It is cookie-less, privacy-friendly, and does not track individual visitors across sessions or sites. It collects only aggregated, anonymized page-view counts.

Logs

Cloudflare, our hosting provider, retains standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent) for a short period for security and abuse-prevention purposes. We do not access or use these logs for any editorial or marketing purpose.

What we don't do

  • We don't use tracking cookies.
  • We don't run third-party ad networks.
  • We don't share your email with anyone outside Buttondown.
  • We don't fingerprint visitors.
  • We don't have a cookie banner because we don't need one.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every issue. If you'd like your data removed from Buttondown entirely, email us at hectorg@smartxchain.com and we'll handle it.

Changes

We'll update this page if our practices change. The "last updated" date above tells you when. Material changes get announced in the newsletter.
